Outstanding topper some assembly required

Outstanding topper some assembly required. But it is a great fit and finish. Took about 2 extra weeks to get delivered but worth the wait. The staff sent me emails letting me know the status of my order.

Rear hatch won't open enough to get things out of the bed

Only problem is the back hatch doesn't open up enough to get things out of the bed.
Cap seems to be built well

2011 Ford supercrew install - Happy customers of this unit - DIY Rack

Crate came Thursday we setup in the garage Saturday and added our custom T-Slot rails Sunday. The cap looks nice and outside of having to hand squeeze the sealant it we simple and a good looking product. Very happy with the purchase and the rack "overland" style extended over cab will be the finishing touch,

I will be writing in review of the pioneer topper

I will be writing for review of the pioneer topper with roof hatch & sliding window option for camping. I will be likely solo camping and I dislike towing or the thought of a big truck camper going down narrow roads. Wanted the setup to be nimble. This will fit the bill perfectly IMO. And boy was i tickled with the roof hatch. I think of this as 4 modes. Sleeping, Lounging, Sitting upright, and standing upright. The hatch allowed for all of this in inclement weather.

As you can see in the picture, sitting up right is easy. I have not tried it yet but plan on attaching a pop up tent over the hatch. Maybe a 4' square shower tent (cheap) and attaching it to the side rails for inclement weather. BTW I have not installed the side rails yet.

This will be like sleeping in a vault. Any bad guys in the campground will have a difficult time getting to me, lol. I like the black look on my white truck with trim. Fit and finish of this is top notch. Doors are smooth and fit well. High Quality.

One picture has a view of the sliding window option from the truck cab side. Ignore the white dust, i bought this truck used and they obviously used it in a dusty environment. I took this picture to show how i can reach thru to my cooler in the back seat of the truck cab. I will need to disable the truck window latch and attach something there to slide open that window. Should be easy after cleaning up that dust!

Those panels or wheel well covers i made out of birchwood (primed/painted/varathane). I will have quick release attachments to the truck done with 3D printer. I want to be able to take everything out relatively easy to clean. The right panel/well i will store my fold up chair pictured and a small table. Behind this is where my little dog will sleep :-). The left panel/well will hold some gear. This is a work in progress as i gain experience.

Not pictured is a false tailgate I made. It serves 3 purposes. To feed power in, a cutoff for a small window AC, and duct in for a diesel heater should i choose to go off grid. There are several videos online of how to do the window AC. Its easy and with this small space should cool me easily in the scorching hot Tennessee summers. I also got two wire baskets (making a cage) and put a small electric heater inside when I have shore power. Also a metal sheet that i will clamp where the tailgate meets the topper to the right to sit this on to keep away from bedding. Winters here are relatively mild so just a chill chaser effect.

Overall Im very happy with this topper/camper! I will make a video of this setup when I do my first camping trip. https://www.youtube.com/@w4nboradio

Strong, well-built and holds a ladder rack with ease.

I needed a topper that could hold a ladder rack for my home inspection business but didn't want a darker color due to the high temperatures of west Texas. I ordered the white version to keep the items in the bed cooler. This topper is built well and the ladder rack bolted up right to it. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for a strong

The right cap for any job

I shopped around for the right truck cap for a while. I couldn’t be happier about finding this fortress truck cap. As a company, the communication from time of placing the order until it arrived at my home was great. I knew what was happening every step of the way. Putting the cap together was straight forward, a link was provided with video instruction. The material is rigged and strong, I have no question that this truck cap will provide long lasting protection from the elements for everything I keep in my truck bed.

Easy to assemble high quality topper

Easy to put together, Was actually surprised by the quality of this top. It was worth the wait (10 weeks)
They made one for my long bed Colorado (ZR2 6'2" Bed)
Which saved me the cost of other manufacturers custom build charge. I saved $1500 over the other companies!

I really like the topper

I really like the topper. The quality seems to be as good as the “Smart Topper”. At half the price.

I was a bit nervous on the shipping. That part is a bit of a mess. Some smaller freight companies do not communicate well.

Assembly wasn’t too bad. However the bolts and nuts for the rail get the black polyurethane all over. That might be the messiest substance known to man. And why don’t they send a normal calk tube? I had to buy a separate tube because I couldn’t find a gun that takes that type of tube.

I love it

I love the Elite Truck Cap and glad I chose it. I was able to get it out of the box myself and laid all the parts out. WATCH THE VIDEO. My brother came over and the 2 of us assembled it with no problems. Make sure you preorder a "sausage caulk gun" as the caulk is in a plastic tube (like frozen hamburger) and will not work with normal caulk gun. It worked great and I was able to do the caulking by myself. It only took 3 people to get it on the truck and a few minutes to latch it down. you need a 10 and 14mm to screw the bolts and worked great. I am so glad I got this one. Yes it took 8 weeks to arrive, but worth the wait. I love the black finish on it. It will only let me attach 5 pictures. I love the metal of the topper as I have now started getting magnetic lights that can move around as needed and hooks to insert and hang were needed. My camera on my phone is not the best, but hope these help others to choose this product.

Overall

Overall, the cap is great. Build time was a bit longer than expected as there are no instructions, other than the video. Its a bit shorter on the Cab side than I thought, so the gap is a bit larger than expected. The utility of the cap is great with the side opening and the windows. I recommend the product!
